Site Characterization Reports provide clients a set of site-specific activities designed to identify and understand contaminants and contaminant sources at a site. Fulcrum provides clients Site Characterization Reports to help ensure adequate and appropriate information is available to support selection and implementation of remedial actions. Site Characterization Reports are designed at the level of detail which is commensurate with the complexity of the site and/or release in question. The process involves:
Fulcrum works with clients, lenders, and property buyers to ensure our Site Characterization Reports the information necessary to understand the property in question.
An Aquifer Test is a controlled field experiment used to estimate hydraulic properties of aquifer systems such as transmissivity, hydraulic conductivity, and storativity (storage coefficient). The three fundamental aquifer testing methods are pumping tests, slug tests and constant-head tests. Each method differs according to the type of hydraulic stress that a control well imposes on the aquifer system under investigation. Fulcrum is able to perform Aquifer Testing for clients and caters its testing Protocol to client needs.

When an Environmental Site Assessment shows that a real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant, Fulcrum can assist property owners or developers in the redevelopment of that site. Fulcrum’s expertise understanding contaminants, how to mitigate them, and what is necessary to minimize their threat are often needed to redevelop a Brownfield site. In need of help redeveloping a Brownfield site? Contact Fulcrum to see how we can assist you.
Assessments of groundwater quality and quantity are often necessary to address public health concerns, help communities, industries, individuals, and ecosystems meet their water needs, and ensure the sustainability of this resource. Oftentimes Groundwater Monitoring is necessitated by the discovery of a contaminant which may be entering a water source. In need of some assistance monitoring your groundwater? Contact one of Fulcrum’s experts to see how we can assist your needs.

A Receptor Survey is a set of remediation requirements that are aimed at ensuring that people and ecological receptors are protected from exposure to hazardous substances at or near contaminated sites. The remediating party must begin to conduct the Receptor Survey when a discharge is confirmed and will continue to evaluate potential receptors throughout the remediation process. At several points in the remediation, the remediating party must submit the results of these Surveys to the government authorities. When a Receptor Survey is necessary for a site, Fulcrum can assist clients in designing, implementing, and reporting the Receptor Survey. Have a project which needs to perform a Receptor Survey? Contact Fulcrum to see how we can help.

Unfortunately at times, buildings and sites need to be closed down and decommissioned. Oftentimes environmental concerns need to be addressed prior to a site closing or decommissioning. Fulcrum can help assist a site design and implement a safe closure plan which identifies key environmental concerns and provides actionable directives.

Pilot and feasibility studies are small studies used to help design a further confirmatory study. They have various purposes such as testing study procedures, validity of tools, estimation of parameters such as the variance of the outcome variable to calculate sample size etc. They are used to gather some data to help decide if further study is warranted. Fulcrum can help design and perform pilot and feasibility studies for our clients.
Some projects require a higher degree of communication with public agencies. Fulcrum provides our clients with liaison services to handle communications and notices to public agencies in order or effectively communicate essential information.
